| Customer Reviews: Great boots! January 16, 2010 T. Mortensen (Nebraska, USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I received this pair of boots for a Christmas gift and was pretty unsure about them at first. I have never worn square-toed boots before and I also didn't know if I liked the "cut-off" heel. But once I put them on, they fit really well and were so comfortable that I got used to the square toe. You don't even notice the cut of the heel unless you have the habit of rocking back on your heels. The insoles are very comfy, almost a gel-like feeling which I'm sure will go away as the boots get broken in but for now they are very easy on the feet.
I've worn them twice so far out for fun and once to a full day of work. I am a shop/ag science teacher and spend almost all day on my feet. When out for fun, I didn't notice any discomfort at all. At work, I did notice that the boots started to feel a little "tight" at the instep in the late afternoon - but that is only compared to the FatBaby boots that I normally wear. It was not uncomfortable, just a different feeling.
My only advice on these (and the reason it's not a 5-star review) is that the soles are SO SLICK. I realize that is preferred by many riders, but even walking on wet sidewalk or smooth concrete was a little challenging. I am not sure that I would recommend them for actual work, as you'd be on your butt in the mud or in wet grass in a split second. As for riding, I think they'd slip easily out of stirrups if you are doing any hard riding.
