Warm, comfy, and best of all NOT UGGS! March 13, 2010 Pepper K. (AZ) I have the sand colored Hip boots. Note that these boots are CALFSKIN. If you want sheepskin then you need to choose the HIPPER boot which is more expensive.
This boot keeps my foot nice and cozy. Unlike others I have no problem with the laces falling, and this might be due to two things: 1) I tie it with a tight crisscross from the ankle up. You have to tie them really tight, because they will loosen as you walk. 2) I sprayed mine with multiple coatings of water repellant spray so I could use them in the snow. The repellant might be causing more friction against the laces making them less likely to slip.
To those who think it looks sloppy, I have to say, not if it's done right. This style is based on the footwear of various indigenous cultures including Native American. I have seen authentic versions and the way they are tied, it does not look sloppy. They are not UGGS, you need to crisscross the laces tight and there will be some creases, not a smooth calf as it is in the picture. If you tie it the way it is in the picture it will be loose and won't look right.
boots March 10, 2010 sil e (NY) the laces go down all the time and is very unconfortable to have to re do it all day long.
warm, cozy, and comfy March 8, 2010 J. Her (Lawrence, KS) I was never really into these types of boots, but when I saw these, I thought the tie up ribbon was just so cute so I had to have them. I bought a size 5, but I usually wear 6.5, and I'm so glad that I did buy smaller because they fit perfectly. They keep my feet warm and dry during cold winter days. I'm very satisfied with these boots.
Ties wont stay secure March 6, 2010 GeorgiaJoe (Atlanta, GA) EMU has some great products.
There are three pair of EMU in our family but
this item just doesn't quite measure up.
Not really for petite people March 6, 2010 Christina (California) I ordered two pairs of these when they were the GB special for $30 each. I was looking for a cheaper alternative to UGGs and I really wanted to love these, but unfortunately didn't. If you have smaller calves, these will be much too big. I found they ran a little big in the foot also, even when I ordered the smaller size (I'm normally 5.5 but ordered 5s). The sizing is not for petite people. So I had to return them. I actually thought the ties were really cute but it's true that they can look a little sloppy.
They aren't the best quality - I noticed some weird seam/glue issues on the black ones but the chestnut ones looked fine and the inside isn't as soft as an UGG or Koolaburra. But if you're looking for a much cheaper UGG alternative, then these are great if you can catch an Amazon deal.
